The investigation will continue today into a fire that killed a man and injured a woman early yesterday in a North Side house.

Kenneth W. French, whose age was not available, was dead on arrival at Ohio State University Hospitals alter fire swept his home at 1044 Loretta Ave. at 3:13 am., fire and hospital officials said.

Joyce Marcee, 35, was in serious condition yesterday at OSU Hospitals, a spokesman said. She had second- and third-degree bums over 30 percent of her body.

A Division of Fire spokesman said the cause of the fire was unknown.

French was leasing the half of the duplex ranch house where the fire broke out, said the owner of the building.
